Picture Of The Day

Although this is not me today it is basically the look on my face after the long day I have had. I am tired, and generally pooped. I am glad tomorrow is the last day of moving stuff out of the old house as it is the last day of this month. Next it’s the unpacking process. There is a lot of that to do as well.

Wish me luck.

Pick’em Up Truck

Yeah, if you know me you would know I am a Chevy fan. So why did I buy a ‘94 Ford Pickup? Oh because I need a vehicle and it was cheap. Not only cheap but my friend is letting me do monthly payments. It’s only 2 more months and it’s paid off, half was put down (and I owe mom since she put up the cash for me - I don’t get paid until next week).

The truck is tall, it isn’t all that pretty (well, not pretty at all), and it looks like a man’s truck. Not something you’d see me driving. At the end of the day, I now have a vehicle which can get me from point A to point B when needed. I work out of my home, I am not depending on it to get me anywhere beyond town or Monkey’s school. It’s actually in good condition when it comes to the motor, only 2000 more miles than mom’s car even has, and I’m not actually worried (for once) about the running condition of a used vehicle.

My first car was a van. It lasted only 2 months before the transmission blew on it. Next came another van which died after approximately 2 weeks. Then I got a car and it had problems from the start. It ended up being scrapped because no matter what we fixed on it, something else went wrong and it was just too expensive to do it. The thing was $350, we put a lot into it and the worth of the vehicle wasn’t even that.

Now I have this truck. I know the people I am buying it from, I know the people who used it before they even got it. I even know the person that they got it from. I know so much about the history of this truck, that I don’t think I’m too worried about it lasting. Then if it doesn’t I’ll be a bit sad and get over it.

In this household we have never had a vehicle that could haul things for us. Although it’s my truck, mom has the benefit of being able to use it if she needs to also get from point A to point B or pick up something big if needed. It has it’s benefits, and not so great things about it as well. In the end it evens out because the price was right for what it does have going for it.

I had so much I wanted to say tonight, but I just realized it is 12:30a and I am dead tired. I can not sit here any longer. I hope you all have a good night and a great weekend. I most likely will not post again tomorrow due to that being update day for Ask Angel but I will get back here as soon as possible to further update about my not-so-interesting life.
