Abearance

I am not a morning person at all, if you couldn’t tell from this picture, lol. I basically rolled out of bed, got dressed, took this photo for a friend of mine and decided to use it. It really kind of displays my displeasure with mornings in general. I was so ready to go back to sleep this morning then I looked at my watch and realized it was 8am and I had to get up soon anyway. I still have yet to make my cup of coffee.

Whew, it’s a new day. I really am surprised I even bothered to roll out of bed. I also just realized that the first picture of the 23 year old me. Darn it I feel old.

My work has been going by pretty well. I really love having the advantage of getting things done on my own computer rather than relying on mom’s. First being that this computer is much faster than hers. The same amount of work takes an hour less of time, approximately. I am looking forward to when I am given some more work to help fill in my time.
Another thing I have seen with my new computer… more free time. Somehow, I’m not exactly sure, but having my own computer has freed up my days so much that I actually have time for other things. I’m loving it. Free time is so good. It probably helps that I can get work done in a straight period of time. A benefit I didn’t have before because I always had to stop when it got too close to mom getting home. All in all, this laptop is the best thing to have happened to me since the birth of my little monster.

Want to know another savior of mine while I am on the topic? My MP3 player. It has it’s own speaker so when I unplug the headphones it just plays out of the speaker and it’s pretty loud for a little MP3 player. I just play my music out loud while I work and my concentration increases by 3 fold. TV is a huge distraction. I try to turn that off during the day. Aubree is good about playing by herself and I only have to stop if she needs something. I take breaks to sit down and eat lunch with her or play a little with her. I also remind her that the sooner mommy gets done, we can read a book or play together.
As soon as I am done working for the night she’ll climb up on my lap and bring her books with her for me to read to her. When she is playing on her own, though, she’s very creative. She gets out dolls, she has friends that she pretends are there with her and she can be very creative. Pretend ice cream. Or she has little dolls of hers walking through Dora’s house which is basically a fancy doll house. Some of the best things happen when you turn off the square electronic babysitter. Of course I am not against TV either. I like to limit it. She don’t need too much. Usually at “lay down and relax time because Aubree almost never naps anymore” I put in one of her cartoons. She loves Blues Clues, Dora, or one of her other many cartoons and she gets 1 hour of her favorite cartoon. I don’t know about the rest of the world but with a child that almost never stops moving, it doesn’t hurt to have an hour of slow down time. Even if she doesn’t sleep, just relaxing for a short period of time is good for her.

Enough of the mommy talk. I never know how much I can say and how much I shouldn’t. I don’t want it to come back to haunt her when she’s 18 and looking for work, lol.
With some free time on my hands, I am thinking about trying to write another little short story to post on here. I am not 100% sure yet. I honestly don’t have a topic in mind to use for a good story. I’ll brainstorm later when I have some of that newly found free time.

I have 2 more investments on my next payday that I am going to take on. Number one being a computer chair. The student chair I use when mom is home is the most uncomfortable thing to have ever been created. I use her computer chair when she’s at work.
The second investment has become necessary because I’m not on mom’s computer anymore and I don’t have the disk for her printer to set it up on my computer to work. So yes, cheap printer. I don’t want anything fancy. I just need to print of important tax records for my own needs. I print off the statements for when I get paid whether it’s from advertising for my website or work. I keep it for tax reasons. In reality, if I ever moved I would need my own printer anyway. So I guess it’s a good investment.

It’s time for me to end this post and get started on other things for the day. Next post should be a picture of my fish, angry because I took her photo. That is unless I find something better to take a photo of. So… Until later.
