I wouldn’t exactly call myself a virtual assistant, but that is a great work from home option. So many businesses want to outsource work to others. Saves them from needing an employee to take on those tasks and it gives people a chance to work from their homes.
As a single mom, I am especially touched by single mom stories. This one started in November of 2007 when Tia Peterson was pregnant and about to become a single mom, herself. Taking on some freelance VA work, she soon found a base to start from so she’d be ready once she’d had her child. After the birth by being a VA she has been able to save herself those daycare fees and gave her the ability to care for her baby.
Tia keeps a website called All American Admin where she offers her services and continues on with her home based business. Much like me and Write to Press, although she’s a bit more successful.

Those that worry about how valid a claim of being organic is on a product can probably appreciate this mom owned business. The EverGreen Home, based in Silver Spring, MD, was started because this mom was on the hunt for a mattress that a family member could use because she was allergic to dust mites. Going with organic as the best option she soon found that the so-called organic mattress companies had no proof to back up their claim.
Using her knowledge of organic requirements and other information she has been able to create a home based estore which offers one stop shopping for those looking for quality organic items.

This is a picture of a swan and some seagulls sitting at the park. There’s no sea of course, but they have their fair share of french fries, bread and other things that people throw at them. I would have loved a closer shot of the swan, that’s what I was going for. Swans are hardly ever alone, they usually come in pairs.

Normally I would do a blog update post to say something like this but I figured it couldn’t hurt to make a full entry.
I want to take a new approach to WAHM Saturday. From now on instead of posting press releases I am going to take the time to scan each press release for important information on each wahm business or website and write about it here for myself with a link back to the original release.
I want to keep WAHM Saturday to something with more unique content to Demandez than just the spotlight. Hopefully when you stop in tomorrow you like they new way I spotlight these women and their businesses. If it continues going well, I would like to expand it to include others. WAHM Saturday, possibly WAHD Sunday? I’ve got a few ideas floating around in my head and I am considering them all.

Today’s picture is Swiper, my fish. It’s a bad photo, sorry. Not much I could do about it because it was taken through her tank with a camera phone.
From the picture though I bet you might be able to tell she is double the fish she used to be. It hasn’t quite been a year since I got her but within the first few months she doubled in side. It is a female. Yet the male betas in the store are half of her size. She is that big.
As for her name, I do believe I’ve mentioned this before, she is named after Swiper the Fox from Dora The Explorer. Aubree has a slight obsession with Dora and when I found myself in need of coming up with a name it just seemed a good choice. I like Swiper the Fox, “Ohhh man.”

I am not a morning person at all, if you couldn’t tell from this picture, lol. I basically rolled out of bed, got dressed, took this photo for a friend of mine and decided to use it. It really kind of displays my displeasure with mornings in general. I was so ready to go back to sleep this morning then I looked at my watch and realized it was 8am and I had to get up soon anyway. I still have yet to make my cup of coffee.

That’s a picture of Aubree from a couple days ago. She was being silly. Her latest thing has been do to silly faces into the camera. She’s even named some of them. The obvious ones are like the fishy face where you squish your lips together. But she also has one she calls spiderman which is basically where she stretched the skin next to her eyes. I don’t know why or how she came up with that one. She just did.
This picture is a lucky catch. The rest were filled with silly faces and such. I was able to get something closer to normal out of here in between.
