Working vs. Stay-At-Home Moms

This debate has been going on for a long time amongst mothers.  Unfortunately it’s usually the stay-at-home mom that snarks against working moms.

“They don’t do anything with their children because they’re too busy working.”

Many comments like that have been used against the working mom.  Their are also the comments that are made towards stay-at-home moms as well.

“They’re lazy.  What are they going to do if they’re ever in a bind?  They’ll never be able to get back into the work force.”

We’ve heard [or read] it over and over again.  Quite simply,  I just want to yell “STFU!”  Why can’t we all just get along?

Working Moms:  Their is nothing wrong with working and raising a family.  It is a part of life.  Do realize, though, that you do give up the opportunity to spend every second you can with your kids.  On the other hand, daycare isn’t a bad thing.  Besides school, that’s a great way for them to grow their social skills and to make friends.

Stay-at-home Moms:  It is great that you have all the time in the world to do everything for your kid like super mom.  It’s expecially special for them to be able to come to you whenever they need you.  It must feel great to have no worries that if they’re sick, their’s no wondering who will take them.  That still doesn’t make you any better than the mom who chooses to help support her family, though.

Both sides have their positives and negatives.  Lets face it, we all make our choices and they’re ours to make.  No need to berate people that do the opposite of us because we have our own opinions.  Instead embrace the fact that they care about their families enough to do what they’re doing, whether it’s working for the income or staying home to care for the family.
