Dateline Or Should I Say Racialine?

Dateline did a news piece on Don Imus.  The guy who said the rude comment about the girls basketball team.  At the end, they talked about this test that will tell you how you feel racially deep down.

Ideally, I would think being neutral would be best.  Though some of the black participants were proud to lean more towards African American instead.  Any white person who showed that they prefered European Americans, they felt bad because it might mean they’re racist deep down.

I will be bold and tell everyone that mine showed:

“Your data suggests a moderate automatic preference for European American compared to African American.”

I was slightly surprised.  It was harder for me to use “Euro-American” as “Good” than it was for me to use “Afri-American” as “Good”.  Could have been much weirder.  My mom got, “Your data suggests a strong automatic preference for African American compared to European American.”  My mom’s white.  But my mom grew up with black neighbors and friends as a kid.  DURING the 60’s and 70’s.  Maybe living as “white trash”, or so what she’d have been considered back then, is why she feels the way she does deep down.

In a disclaimer, I’m so far from being racist it isn’t funny.  Color isn’t important, we’re all human.  That’s all that matters.  We’re all the same because we’re all human beings.  My friends are not just one color.

If you’d like to take the test and see how you do, you can find it here.  Have fun.  You never know, you might be very surprised at what you see!
