I Lost 5 Lbs!

I am very excited by that little bit of weight loss.  Nothing feels better than starting down the route of weight loss.  Now I only have way too much left to lose.  I know I can do it though.  As long as I think about my goal I am sure I can resist the urge to sidetrack off my path.

On a side note, I joined this networking site called Yuwie.  It’s pretty neat.  The people seem nice.  Within the first 24 hours I was a member 32 people had added me as their friend.  If you’d like to join and also be on my friends list go to this URL [http://www.yuwie.com/yuwie.asp?r=104325] .  I’d be more than happy to add anyone that would like to be on my friends list.

One of the unique things about Yuwie is that they are a revenue sharing site.  The split up their earnings among their members which is pretty neat.  That isn’t really why I joined though.  I just happened to like the site more than MySpace.

One of the last things to really mention is that the post below this one was the 200th post for this blog!  And I am very happy with how things have gone with this blog.  If only I had a few more readers.  That’d be nice.

Celebrity Blogger

Discuss This:

What would you do if you woke up one day and found out that you were one of the most popular people on the intra-web?  What do you think it takes to get there?  Share your thoughts.

I sometimes wonder what it would take to be titled as a celebrity blogger.  I mean, keep in mind that one guy, Perez Hilton isn’t it?  What exactly did he do in the beginning that caught the eye of people.  That he managed to get so popular that he’s known all over the world.  It’s crazy.

I really wouldn’t mind being a celebrity blogger, with exception when it comes to the cost of hosting, lol.

Its It’s There Their They’re

You Scored an A

You got 9/10 questions correct.
It’s pretty obvious that you don’t make basic grammatical errors.

If anything, you’re annoyed when people make simple mistakes on their blogs.

As far as people with bad grammar go, you know they’re only human.

And it’s humanity and its current condition that truly disturb you sometimes.

The It’s Its There Their They’re Quiz

I doubt anyone finds that too believable.  I am usually the first to admit that my grammar isn’t exactly top notch.   I am kind of curious about which one I got wrong now.

Live From My House, It’s Saturday Night!

I am seriously wondering when they plan to start some new SNL episodes.  I’ve seen the reruns too many times.

Nothing is really all that exciting around here.  Friday I went with my mom to check out a yard sale.  They had tons and tons of 3T and 4T clothing on sale for $.50 and such.  Aubree got a garbage bag’s worth of clothing for only $20.  A very nice deal! :)

Then today mom and I hit another yard sale, but it was because their ad said they had a treadmill.  Which they did.  Mom bought it for $20.  It works… although I think it fell out of the 80’s and some of the little light bars [like those on a digital clock] won’t light up.  It lights up enough to guestimate the info on the screen.  Even with the age and the screen problem, I must say it does work without any problem.  It even tells you how many miles you’ve gone while you’re walking/running on it.

With the treadmill I am going to stop timing how long I exercise and instead I am hoping to set a decent mile goal.  I was thinking I would start with a mile and see how I feel.  I’ve found that when the speed is set on 3 it’s like a fast walk and that might just work out for me.  Then I can gradually work my way up when it comes to the speed until I can manage a good run and a good distance.   Considering my size, I see that being a bit farther in the future than any time soon, though.

I will be back to update as soon as I have time.  I’m just so darn busy.  During the week I just don’t seem to be able to find the time to go anywhere besides the 2 blogs I update on for my boss.  If I am not back tomorrow I’ll try to come around some time next week.  Have a great weekend!

Mailboxes

If you live in a house, then chances are that you have a mailbox.  The great thing about them is that you can make them fit in with the way you decorate your yard.  That is why a website like mailboxixchange sells a variety of mailboxes.

Their are 2 different types of mailboxes they offer.  You can find residential mailboxes and commercial mailboxes for sale here.  Offering over 1,500 curbside decoration-type products.

In case you didn’t know already, residential means that they’re mailboxes for private homes.  The type of mailbox you would have right now would be considered residential.  It doesn’t matter why style it is, it would still fit under that category.

The commercial mailboxes would be for businesses.  They’re generally bigger so they can receive big packages and such.  These mailboxes are only for use by businesses, not for individual homes.

Another thing that mailboxixchange offers is the opportunity to make money through their affiliate program.  If that’s something that would interest you, I recommend that you check it out!

The Dentist And The Drill

I promised to write after I visited the dentist and I meant it.  Today was my appointment and I’m home, alive and well.  My fear of the needle was dumb because it didn’t even hurt.  It was just a little pinch just like the dentist said.  It took 5 shots to numb my nerve enough that the drill didn’t hurt.

Two molars are what got filled, right next to each other on the right side of my mouth.  One was a really deep cavity, it was almost to the nerve.  The other one was deep, but not as deep.

Now that it’s all done and over with, my jaw aches and if cold water touches those teeth it aches, but the dentist told me it would be like that for a short while because of how close to the nerve it got.  As for the jaw ache, that’s from the 5 needles.  She said the ache would go away after 1-2 days.  It’s because of all the needles it took to numb my mouth.

So that was my dental adventure and if you happen to be scared of needles, I want to tell you their’s no need to worry.  Just open your mouth and don’t look.  You will hardly feel it if your dentist knows what s/he is doing.

Wacky Weather, Cheap Stuff, And More!

I really must say that our weather has gone bonkers.  It’s not fall yet, but I’m seen trees that have leaves turning colors and are falling to the ground.  The temp is staying around the 60’s.  It is seriously hard to believe it.  It’s not even officially fall yet.  The only fun thing is that I can now put Aubree in those cute winter outfits mom and I bought her last winter when they were half and seventy-five percent off.

Does anyone reading this have a Goodwill anywhere near them?  What are the general prices they charge you?  I find the prices on their toddler clothing to be a bit pathetic [considering they got the stuff donated to them].  The other day I saw one of the walmart $1 movies marked for sale at $3.99.  How sad is that!?

I must admit they have some good deals.  I bought a thing for doing crunches [you put your head on the head rest and place your hands on the bar and roll up] for $1.49.  Mom bought a new keyboard for $1.99 and she also got a VCR that works like new for $5.

On top of all the shopping fun, I still have the dental appointment coming up where I’ll be getting 2 fillings.  Considering I am terrified of needles I am not looking forward to them having to numb my teeth to do the fillings.  Scared to death.  I’ve never had to have a shot in my mouth before, so that makes my anxiety ten times worse.

Don’t worry, after my dentist appointment, you’ll be hearing from me.  Chances are that I am all worked up over something that’ll turn out to not be that bad.

Keep On Truckin’

It’s a little after 1 am and I’m pretty tired.  But I really wanted to drop a few words here before I took off for bed.

I must admit, since I’ve started to drink this green tea I bought I have had more energy [yes, I know it has caffeine]  but in general I am much happier to get up and do things.  I feel better.  It works better than soda used to when I needed a pick-me-up when I woke up in the morning.  On top of that, 100% green tea is good for you.

What is now yesterday, I had a dentist appointment.  It appears that I have 2 cavities and I’ll be getting those filled next week.  On the 18th.  I am scared out of my mind.  I am scared to death of the needle that delivers the numbing stuff.  If my tooth wasn’t sensitive because of the cavity, I wouldn’t bother.

The dentist told me that if I ever got a cavity on one of my molars she would remove it rather than fill it because they’re in a position where it’s not exactly easy to do anything about them.  No surprise since I was told as they grew in that their wasn’t enough room in my mouth for them.  And that dentist was right, I suppose.  They’re not in a good position in the back of my mouth.

Last, but not least, I have cut Aubree’s hair.  I think it looks cute, and the back is finally a bit closer to even rather than being in 20 different lengths since that’s how it grew out.

And so now I must say my good nights and be well’s to everyone.  I’m going to go fall into bed and pass out, instantly.

Hot ‘n Sticky

Maybe even stinky too.  Who knows.  I do know that I could use a shower.  I’ll take one later tonight, though.  Right now I just want to blog where I feel needs blogged.

So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been?  Probably not, but I’ll tell you anyway.  I’ve just simply been busy.

Yesterday I had an appointment at the health department for birth control.  Lets just say I wasn’t happy.  Besides them being out of what I was using [which meant I had to be switched to a different type], it was determined that I have high blood pressure and I need to go to a doctor.

I explained to them that I don’t have insurance so they were able to get me set up with a form of insurance that will cover urgent care [$5 copay], doctor appointments with the doctors office they chose [$5 copay],  and prescriptions [$5 generic copay, $10 name brand copay].  Considering I had absolutely nothing, I am extremely thankful for this little bit of help.

I’ll be going to the doctor on the 27th.  Then I’ll have to wait and see what he says about my blood pressure.

On a side note I am also looking to lose some weight, which is good.  I’m trying to cut back from a really bad habit I’ve had since I’ve had Aubree - eating at night.  For some reason I don’t feel all that hungry until after a certain time.  I think it has something to do with not having a 2 year old to beg from me.

Some things I’ve decided to do:

  • Count Calories [to see how much I am eating on average].
  • Not eating a darn thing after 6pm.
  • No more soda!  I’ve cut soda out of my life, completely.
  • I’m going to start drinking more green tea and water.
  • Walking daily.

I am hoping that will help me out when it comes to going down a few pounds.  Actually I need to lose a lot of weight, but it’s a start down that road.  :)
